Los Roques has 400Km2 of coral reefs and diving is one of the most exciting experiences you can try: Loros, Pargos, Morenas, Caritas, Rabirrubias, Congrios, Meros and lobsters in one perfect ecosystem of coral, sponges and marine settings.

There are different Diving Center in Los Roques. You can reserve daily outfits or diving package.

Discover Scuba

The PADI Discover Scuba Diving program lets you experience the thrill of diving under the supervision of a PADI Instructor in ideal conditions, such as those found at a resort. During your adventure, you’ll master some basic concepts and scuba skills before heading off on an open water dive.

Scuba Diver

Thinking of getting certified for an upcoming vacation, but don’t have the time to put into a regular diver course? Now there’s a quick and easy program designed especially for you! This is your chance to slap on some fins, strap on a mask and experience an intense adventure in a short amount of time. The PADI Scuba Diver program is a pre-entry level certification that is perfect for vacationers or people who only plan to dive a couple times a year.

Open Water

As a certified PADI Open Water Diver you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional. If you already tried a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience or are PADI Scuba Diver certified, check with your instructor to see how credit from these courses may apply to the open water program. Your underwater adventure can begin as soon as today with the new PADI Open Water Diver Video and interactive CD-ROM! You can view these materials at home, at your own pace and then meet with an instructor for further assistance. Open water learning options also include group or private instruction. This course offers tremendous flexibility and lets you work out individual needs with your instructor.

Open Water Referral Training

Available to those who have completed the OWD theoretical and swimming pool training. With this course, you will be able to pursue your training with us. You will only need a referral from your instructor. This is a good way to complete your training. This course comprises instruction and four immersions.

Review Course

A review for those divers who are short on practice. The course comprises instruction and one immersion accompanied by our Divemaster. Equipment is not included.

Advanced OWD

Extend your knowledge about navigation, night dive and deep dive. This course comprises instruction, advanced course theory book and five immersions. Equipment is not included.

INFORMATION AND RULES ABOUT DIVING

A little information and a few rules about our activities in Los Roques.

First, any person who wishes to join our diving services in Los Roques must present a certificate acknowledged by the FVAS (Federación Venezolana de Actividades Submarinas) certifying qualification for using scuba diving equipment. Qualifying certifications include: PADI, NAUI, CMAS, SSI, YMCA, NASDS, BRITISH SUB-AQUA CLUB.

You will have to show our instructors your certificate before starting your diving or when requested by the park officer. If you are not certified, you will be required to take instruction with one of the instructors.

As a safety measure and in view of respecting the rules of the “Parque Nacional”, it is forbidden to dive alone; the minimum group being 2 divers and the maximum 10, accompanied by 1 Divemaster. If there are more than 10 divers, they will be accommodated in two groups, each one with its own Divemaster.

The use and carrying of any harpoons is completely forbidden, the same applies to the retrieval of any form of marine life that may alter the seabed. No touching, sitting or standing in the coral reef. Our guides are very particular with these rules and enforce them thoroughly. You will receive all necessary explanations and be briefed regarding the Parque Nacional rules and regulations before each dive. You will also be submitted to a compulsory aquaticity test.

As a reminder do not dive at least 12 hours before your next scheduled flight, and at least 24 hours if diving for more than two days continuously.

On your arrival at Los Roques, you will be provided with all the equipment for your diving course, if any.

When making your reservation, please inform us whether you will need additional equipment (the dive package includes tank and belts) so we can reserve it for you.
