FIRST DAY: Departure from Porlamar to Tucupita,
Delta Amacuro capital city. Once at Tucupita Airport, you will go
aboard on a boat with outboard motor, equipped with water,
sodas and life-jackets. The journey from the airport to the
camp is 2 hours long, where you will navigate by the Mánamo
River and will be able to enjoy the diversity of vegetation
that characterizes the area. Arrival to Mis Palafitos Camp, located
beside the Morichal Largo Channel. Once disembarked the
number of the cabins will be given to the passengers and
they will be communicated of the camp recommendations as
well as the lunch time, when they will taste a rich homemade
meal with non alcoholic drinks included.
After lunch and dressed with swimsuits,
you will leave on "canalete" curiara (row canoe) to a small
channel where it you will enjoy the harmony of nature, the
sounds of the jungle, the beautiful mirrors that doubly
reflect the landscape and the warm breeze of the humid
tropical jungle. When returning to the camp, you will get
15min. to change of clothes (long sleeve shirt and long
pants) rubber boots will be given to you and then you will
get back on the outboard motor boat to start the trip by the
different channels of the area and look for local fauna as:
capuchinos and araguatos monkeys, herons, snakes, river
dolphins, otters, tarantulas, guacharacas, chiguires,
scorpions, etc. (we remind you that this is a virgin
territory, and the diversity of animals that you might see
depends on the luck of the day, since it is not a zoo but a
natural reservation). You will walk through the swamp jungle
watching a diversity of trees, Moriche palm trees, Malaca,
Temiche, Sangrito (balsa wood), water rattan, etc. You will
visit a Warao family, where you can also buy baskets and
hammocks handcrafts made with natural materials such as
Moriche Palm Tree fiber, carved balsa wood figures and
necklaces made of seeds. When the visit is over, you will get
again on the boat and we will look for a nice place to fish
piranhas while enjoying one of the magic moments of the
Orinoco Delta: “The Sunset.” Before it totally darkens, you will
return to the camp where you will be given one hour to rest
and relax before dinner. The guide will notify you the
departure time on the following day and then the tourists
will be able to enjoy by themselves of a magic night in the
delta, with moon or without it, but in this last case
delight themselves with a wonderful starry sky.
SECOND DAY: The breakfast will be served at 06:30
a.m., immediately when finishing, with baggage in hand you
will get on the boat and return to Tucupita Airport, where
you will get aboard on one of our airplanes (Cessna Caravan
or Bandeirante) and will start the flight to Canaima, the
flight will have an approximate duration of one hour. Before
landing at Canaima Airport we will carry out a flight over
the Angel Falls, (just in case of not being able to flight
over it in the morning due to bad weather or cloudiness, it
will be carried out in the afternoon when returning to
Margarita). When landing in Canaima, the admision
ticket to the National Park will be paid and immediately you
will be taken to the Wäcu Camp (Canaima Tours) in one of our
units. Once in the camp the guide will indicate you where to
change of clothes and leave your belongings. You will get on an outboard motor curiara,
to cross the Canaima Lagoon and watch the 4 waterfalls (Ucaima,
Golondrina, Wadaima and Hacha). At the other side of the
Lagoon, we will disembark in the Anatoly Island and a walk
of approximately 20 minutes will be made. Until arriving to
the Sapo Fall, where from above you will be able to observe
the impressive and magic landscapes and the different
Tepuyes (plateaus) and from below you will cross the
waterfall walking behind of the curtain of water, enjoying
one of the best sensations which is being showered by such
an impressive waterfall of reddish waters from the Carrao
River. The trip lasts 2 hours approximately.
You will return to the Camp where after
changing clothes to dry ones, you will taste the typical
Stick Chicken cooked by Pemon Natives in a restaurant with a
view to the Canaima Lagoon waterfalls and livened up with
the free birds that inhabit the camp as: Guacamayas and
Parrots in diversity of species, jays, carpenters etc. After eating lunch, you will visit the
indigenous art gallery and the souvenir store where you will
be able to appreciate different indigenous pieces and crafts
from diverse indigenous groups of Venezuela as well as of
artisans. From there you will go directly to the airport and
return to Margarita Island. |
